The work Folding Floor is a reconstruction of a work by Gechtman, exhibited in 1973 at Blatman Gallery in Tel Aviv within a group show named Corners, curated by Ran Shchori. (The previous Blatman Gallery was located at the exact same place in Tel Aviv, of the Chelouche Gallery today.)
Gechtman created a folded corner that imitated the tiles of the gallery's floor, a work that incorporated strenuous labor, time and effort but was bound to to be dismentaled as soon as the show was over.
the reconstruction of Folding Floor at Petach Tikva Museum refered to the space and dimensions of the given show room and especially to its concrete floor.
