Alona Friedberg & Limor Orenstein are a couple of young and original artists, who work as a duel ever since their day at the Midrasha school of arts. Their joint work is characterized by video work, installations and manipulated photography. In their work Friedbeg & Orenstein create a theatrical environment constructed by transplanted objects, distortions and interruptions of rich visual and acoustic effects, all in the context of art history, traditional gender rolls and heroic myths of the birth of the country of Israel. The human figures that appear in Alona & Limor’s work are those of the artists themselves, directing themselves, doubling each other’s images and creating together a new, extreme entity of resemblance, uniformity and difference.
