Michal Shamir was born in 1957 in Tel Aviv.
She lives and works in Israel.
Shamir earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York and holds a BFA, received at HaMidrasha Art Teacher’s Training College, Ramat Hasharon, Israel. She is an art lecturer and she is ahead of Sapir Academic College in Israel.
Shamir has exhibited extensively, and has won a large number of prizes. Among the institutions that presented her work: the Israel museum, Jerusalem, the Tel Aviv museum of art, BASS museum of art, Miami. Her work is also part of a vast number of established private and public collections.
