Curated by Christian Viveros-Fauné, this exhibition at Museum of Contemporary Art Quinta Normal raises questions about the culture of representation and continues the museum’s tradition of presenting challenging artwork with political and social content in Chile. People I Met is a series of images that show the lives of Palestinians in the occupied territories, captured over Miki Kratsman’s decades-long photography career working in Gaza and the West Bank. The images, which exist as cropped portraits on a Facebook page, are isolated from their original frame and context. The faces are uploaded with just the date, location and Kratsman’s simple question: “What happened to the people in the photographs?”

Miki Kratsman, people I met, Untitled (1), 2010-2017, digital print, 35X25 cm
