While drawing and writing daily, the artist returned to the most significant journey and place in her life: “During the last four years, I have been working on ‘The Iron Road’ – a project which returned to the train journey that my family and I took from Uzbekistan to Russia in 1990, on our way out of the Soviet Union. This is probably the most significant journey made in my life.”
