Diminuendo

2017
Diminuendo is a four-channel video (animation) installation that combines hand-drawn stop motion animation, and a sculptural/architectural object that takes over the space of the gallery and alters its space. The architectural element on which the videos are projected is constructed from various theatrical sets and architectural materials such as wood, plaster, drywall, wallpaper, plywood, paint and parts of doors and windows.

The videos show fragmented parts of a scene that seems as a mechanism of some sort with an uncertain hierarchy: a character opens and closes a door that lets in sounds of howling dogs, hands pull a rope, a piano plays 3 notes, a porcelain swan rotates left and right, a ceiling fan turns on and off. They are all synchronized in their movement, as if orchestrated or choreographed by an invisible force in this stuck moment
