A Star is Born, 2003

Portfolio, 2003

2003
After finishing his photographic project ‘A star is born’ Uri Gershuni carried on with the same theme, following the same idea, but moving to another arena. Uri chose this time an arena closer to him and more relevant to his biography and upbringing. In this series he photographs again young people on their way to strive and achieve their artistic dream and fulfillment.

This series was photographed at the art department of ‘Bezalel’ ( the major most important art academy in Israel, where Gershuni studied himself). He photographs the candidates applying for the art academy on the day of interviews (auditions), always minutes before entering the room where their future is determined, their ‘acceptance’ to art world (scene).
The young ‘to be’ artists are always photographed with their portfolio.
